Christmas Buffet Shelves

Last week I began sharing our christmas decor starting with our front hallway, so I thought I would continue this week by showing you our buffet shelves in our kitchen/dining area! Last Christmas, these shelves/buffet didn't exist so I had a lot of fun decorating them for the holidays for the first time and I love how they turned out!

In our living room we stuck with the classic green and red colors (tour to come), so in our dining/kitchen area I was craving a more neutral winter look. I already had copper toned things out for our fall buffet shelves, so I decided to keep those out and just add some greenery via garland and trees to stick to that neutral palette.

Decorating these shelves were very easy, and took a record time of around 10 minutes to do! I already had many of these serving pieces on the shelf so I begun by adding the garland that I already owned from last christmas. The garland piece is very long and not full, so  I folded it in half twice and wrapped it around the cake stands to secure the garland from falling off the edge.  On the top shelf I added the copper recipe box that we got as a gift from some friends,  and I thought it tied in the copper mugs and L sign perfectly!

To give it more of a winter feel, I added cinnamon  pinecones to the basket. They are one of my favorite things to use in the Christmas time because they are so affordable and they smell so good!

Then the only other thing I added were two trees that I already owned from Target and Michaels. I didn't make a ton of changes, but by just adding some greenery it definitely gave it that winter neutral look that I was wanting. I hope this proves that you don't need to make big extravagant changes to decorate for the holidays. Small changes can go a long way! Thank you so much for stopping by my little blog today and checking out my shelves! I hope you all are having a great holiday season!
