One Room Spring Tour

I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Kathleen from Lindsay Hill Interiors along with  24 bloggers to share a “one room” spring tour.  I, along with 4 other bloggers will be sharing our living rooms today and if you want to check out other rooms on the tour, at the bottom of the post I have all 24 bloggers and their one rooms linked up at the bottom of this post so you can follow along! All of their homes are gorgeous so make sure to check them out!

If you are new on my blog, welcome, I’m so glad to have you here! My husband and I bought our house a year and half ago after getting married, and since then we have been working to make it our own. I hadn’t been loving our living room lately, so I took this spring as an opportunity to freshen things up. I didn’t overly decorate with seasonal décor, but rather stuck with the color palette that runs through the rest of our house: blue and green, my favorite colors and perfect for spring!

For spring, I wanted to change out my pillows so I sewed my own pillowcases using fabric that was in the blue and green color scheme. I even brought the color navy into the space, which was new to me!

I kept the centerpiece to our DIY coffee table rather simple and the only thing I added for spring was the candle and hurricane that I filled with sand that I got from World Market. The beach is my favorite place to be in warm weather, so I wanted to add this natural element that makes me so happy. Plus, it helps to stabilize the candle so it's a win win in my books:)

Going along with the coastal theme, I recently picked up the grapewood branch from West Elm for our bookshelf.  I love how it adds a unique shape to the space.  I stuck to a green, blue, and wood theme for the bookshelves to give it a more cohesive look.

Garden Stool: Wayfair / Vase: Marshall's

It wouldn't be spring without tulips, so I picked these pink ones up from Trader Joes to break up all the blues and greens in the space.

I'm a huge fan of dough bowls, but can't stomach their price tags, so when I came across this bowl from Target recently I was ecstatic and snatched one up! To add some color, I added some moss balls that I picked up from Marshall's.

As part of freshening up the space, I also gave a makeover to our laminate media cabinet this past week. You can read all about it on yesterday's blog post

And to finish off this corner, I added this striped blanket from Target that I'm in love with. Blue + stripes + throw blanket = my name written all over it!

  5. Beautiful!! Thanks for sharing glimpses of your lovely home to us readers. I do have a question, though. I love all the pillows throughout your house, speifically the ones in your living room! Would you mind sharing some of the websites from which you purchased the fabric from? I've been looking for the perfect pillows for months now, and have decided that it might just be easier to make some. Thank you!

    1. Thank you Kaitlyn. I use Fabric.com, 2 of these fabrics are from them (the navy velvet and navy and white). The floral fabric is Duralee Cecillia and I was able to find it on Ebay. As for the seafoam quatrefoil fabric, I found that at a local fabric store and it looked like Kravet Riad so I had to pick it up. I have a lot from fabric.com, but I also have some from Serena Lilly, I also will pick up fabric via table clothes or napkins at places like HomeGoods if if find ones I like. I also have picked some up from Joann Fabrics before. Hope this helps:)

  8. Calendar is an important thing that needs to be checked always if you are working or not, and as checking multiple mails can be done anytime, but you can miss your calendar meeting or setting done, and thus it is always advised to always have a view on the calendar always, such that you don’t miss any important point. Add Calender in Outlook Outlook does give you an option to add calendar from Gmail, Yahoo, Link and other popular email sites, and this makes a user flexible, as the chance to miss any meeting or set item in the calendar will not be missed as they will be always available on screen in Out look.
