Hello there! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far! This blog post today is inspired my by new favorite television show, Fixer Upper on HGTV. It's not a new show, but I just got cable two weeks ago so it's a new show for me. If you don't watch it I would highly recommend you start, but chances are if you're reading this then you might watch this show yourself and probably love it as much as I do! Within the show, the reveal of the finished house is hands down my favorite part. I absolutely LOVE Joanna Gaines style and I am always very excited to see how she decorates the homes and to see where she has bought the furniture and decor for the houses. A lot of her furniture and decor that she uses comes from her store, The Magnolia Market, or are unique pieces found at antique fairs, but she also incorporates pieces from stores that are accessible to everyone! Below I have compiled a list of some of the furniture that I have been able to recognize in her episodes. Some of the furniture pieces are definitely rather expensive, but if you love the show as much as I do I still think it's fun to see some of the places where she gets her furniture and to see how she mixes different styles together!
My husband and I considered buying the Target Threshold Industrial Barstool for our own home before ever watching any episodes of the show, so after seeing them used in several of the episodes I'm even more set on getting these for our kitchen. Feels good to know that Joanna Gaines would of approved of my style choice had I bought them that day at the store:)
I was surprised when I re-watched some of last seasons episodes and came across this pendant lamp from Ikea because for some reason when I think of Joanna Gaines style I don't think of Ikea. That only makes me like her style even more now though because I like the fact that she mixes different styles and items of all different price ranges. The Pendant Lamp she used was in yellow, but it's only carried online in blue at this time.
This side table is a little pricey, but I see similar ones all the time at HomeGoods/ Marshall's/ TJ Maxx for a lot less.

I found your blog via your Instagram account. I too have just discovered Fixer Upper. We do not have cable so I watched Season 1 on the computer last week and I am in love with Joanna's style. I am debating buying season 2 on iTunes to watch on Apple TV, but I have so many projects I need to get done that I think I need to wait until it is available on the computer.

Thank you for solving the mystery of those stools from the tire swing house! I've been searching! Can't believe they're from Target! You said you have them too? How have yours held up? The reviews on Target's website aren't great but I love the look of them!
ReplyDeleteHi Jill! I I have not purchased these stools since we haven't begun remodeling our kitchen yet, but I was considering it because I love the look. At the same time, however, I am hesitant to purchase them based on the negative reviews as well. Sorry I couldn't help more!

DeleteIt looks like she uses several different styles/ colors. For the white ones it looks like she uses the Ikea Rivita ones sometimes which are the ones I have used and I know a ton of other bloggers have too. They are great for the price!
