6 Month Update

Hi everyone! As of this month, Paul and I have lived in our first home for 6 months. During that time period we have gotten a lot done.  We still have a lot to do in the house, but I'm very happy with all of the progress that we have made so far in our home. That said, today I thought I would show you some before and current shots of rooms so you can see how the transformation is coming along. All of the before shots are from when the previous homeowners lived in this house.

The Family Room Before:

Family room currently. I will be showing you updated pictures next week as well, because I have a new rug to show you all:)

The first thing we did to this space after painting is add curtains. Here is the blog post on these custom length no-sew curtains.

Mantle Before:

Mantle currently
This is by far probably my favorite project thus far. It made a huge impact in this room. Here is my  blogpost on how to create it.

 Guest Bathroom Before:

Guest bathroom currently. I meant to do a full room reveal last month, but I have yet to find artwork for over the toilet so I hope to share this entire makeover soon.
Blog post on the  DIY painted cabinets

I did get an orchid though to bring color into the space.  I've owned it for about 6 weeks and it's still alive!

The Dining Area Before:

Dining area currently:

Master Bedroom Before:

So far in our master bedroom we have just painted the room and added some furniture. I'm hoping to get this room more completed this spring and summer.

Bedroom / My Future Office Before

My office currently

Since taking the above photo I have since hung the mirror. Here is the blogpost on how I made it.

Our first room makeover when moving in was our laundry closet. Here is more details on that makeover.
One of the biggest changes in each room was just adding a new fresh coat of paint. In the last 6 months, we (meaning Paul, my father in law, and myself) have managed to paint all of the walls, doors, and trim on the first floor. It definitely made a huge difference. Here is the blogpost on the paint colors we used in our house and here is the blogpost on painting the doors and trim.

With all that we have gotten done in the past 6 months, I can only imagine what we will accomplish in the next 6.

If you would like to follow along and stay up to date on more of my home decor, DIY, lifestyle and other posts, I'd love to have you follow me along on any of the following:

    1. Thank you so much for all the kind words! Since we knew we would want the headboard and sectional for a long time we definitely considered them investment pieces and got the ones that we want!

    1. Thank you so much! It takes time, no need to rush! My husband and I had the idea to just get everything done at first that we want, but we are starting to realize that it gets very tiring and and time consuming. It's best to just go at the pace that feels best for you!!:)
